Polk County’s boys tennis team picked up its first win of the season Monday, slipping past East Henderson 5-4 in action at Jackson Park in Hendersonville.

The two teams split the day’s three singles matches, although all three East singles wins were close. The Wolverines (1-1) then captured two of the three doubles matches, with Adam Kehrer and Matias Akers teaming for a win at No. 1 doubles and Cameron Greve and Eric Avellaneda claiming a win at No. 3 singles.

Polk County begins Western Highlands Conference play on Tuesday as Avery visits for a 4 p.m. match.
