Hendersonville ends Polk winning streak with 8-1 triumph
Hendersonville snapped Polk County’s three-match winning streak on Monday, handing the Wolverines an 8-1 setback in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference boys tennis action in Hendersonville.
The Wolverines dropped to 5-2 overall, 3-2 in league matches. Hendersonville is now 3-2. 3-1.
How it happened: The Bearcats claimed five of the day’s six singles matches, though not without quite a battle at No. 1 singles where Banks Barber dropped a 6-3, 6-7, 10-6 tiebreaker decision to Canyon Hilliard.
Riley Ballentine scored the lone win for the Wolverines at No. 3 singles, also winning that match in a tiebreaker.
Hendersonville swept the three doubles matches to secure the win.
