Polk County's Riley Ballentine

Barber, Ballentine land tennis all-conference honors

Polk County’s Banks Barber and Riley Ballentine have been named to the Mountain Foothills 7 All-Conference boys tennis team.

Barber played No. 1 singles and Ballentine played No. 3 singles this season for the Wolverines. The two also often played together as Polk’s No. 1 doubles team.

Both players posted a 9-3 record this season in singles play while finishing 8-3 as a doubles team. Barber placed second in the MF7 postseason tournament and will compete starting May 5 in the 2A West Regional at Gardner-Webb.

R-S Central standout Billy Mac Clement was named the MF7 Player of the Year while R-S Central assistant coach Bill Giles received Coach of the Year honors.
