Polk County Middle’s boys soccer team showed Monday just how much it has improved this season. The Wolverines just didn’t get the result they wanted from that effort.

Having lost 7-1 earlier this season to Hendersonville Middle, the Wolverines held their own Monday with the Bearcats, Hendersonville pulling away from a halftime tie for a 3-1 victory at Polk Middle.

In its regular-season home finale, Polk Middle (2-7-1) fought to a 1-1 score at halftime, the Wolverines getting a goal from Omar Carson. But Hendersonville (7-4) scored in the first minute of the second half, then added a late goal for the final margin.
