Polk County Middle rebounded from an early 2-0 deficit on Wednesday, storming back for a 5-3 win over Brevard Middle in boys soccer action at Polk County Middle School.
Brevard tallied twice early in the first half before the Wolverines (2-0) came to life, scoring three times before the halftime break. Polk added two more goals in the second half to seal the win.
“We played much better in the second half,” said Polk Middle head coach Travis Aldred. “We struggled with possession and marking, but in the second half the team was much better all around.
“Brevard was just as good as us. It definitely wouldn’t surprise me if they make the playoffs this year.”
Polk County Middle returns to action on Tuesday, journeying to Mills River to face Rugby Middle at 4:30 p.m.
