The pieces are beginning to fall in place for Polk County Middle.
The Wolverines rebounded from Monday’s loss at Smoky Mountain with a convincing 4-1 win Wednesday over Canton Middle in Blue Ridge Conference boys soccer action at Utz Field.
Polk Middle (2-1) got an early goal from Brennan Oates and never relinquished the lead. Callaway Cameron and Oates then each found the net in the final 10 minutes of the opening half to give the Wolverines a 3-0 advantage at the break.

Axel Ramirez padded the margin with a strike early in the second half, allowing Polk Middle head coach Lennox Charles to rotate in his entire roster and give every player a break on a sizzling afternoon.
“We still have a lot to work on, but things are starting to come together,” Charles said.
Charles cited the play of his defense, especially in the first half, as helping key the win.
Polk Middle returns to action Thursday, traveling to Chase Middle for a match scheduled to start at 4:15 p.m.
