Wolverines blank Flat Rock in boys soccer regular-season finale

Polk County Middle wrapped up its regular season on Monday with a 3-0 shutout of Flat Rock in Blue Ridge Conference boys soccer action at Polk.

The Wolverines ended the season with a 6-5-1 record. Polk County will travel Thursday to Macon Middle for the opening round of the BRC postseason tournament. The two teams battled to a 2-2 tie in the opening game of the season.

Polk Middle did all of its damage in the first half as Braxton Edwards scored the Wolverines’ first goal, followed by tallied from Evan Jones and Yan Ramirez. Elliott Whiteside and Jack Smith had assists for Polk County.

Flat Rock ended its season with a 7-4-1 record.

The Wolverines recognized their eighth graders during the day, those being Edwards, Alexis Gonzales, Ashton Griffin, David Ramirez and Yan Ramirez.
