The Wolverines broke through in the 42nd minute when Owen Justice met a perfectly placed cross from Axel Ramirez, calmly slotting home from seven yards out to the bottom right corner. The assist came after Ramirez found space on the right sideline roughly 20 yards from goal.

Foster Meyer provided an insurance goal later in the half, gathering a ball 40 yards from goal and using his pace to beat a defender down the left side. Under pressure, Meyer struck a low left-footed shot that the Brevard goalkeeper got hands to, but couldn’t keep out of the right corner.

Polk Middle’s defense held firm in the final 18 minutes, withstanding several Brevard attacks to preserve the clean sheet and secure the win.

The Wolverines return to action Wednesday, hosting Flat Rock Middle School at 4:30 p.m.
