Rugby Middle scored a pair of second-half goals Monday to hand Polk County Middle a 3-1 setback in a Blue Ridge Conference boys soccer matchup in Mills River.
The Wolverines (7-2) gave up an early goal, but finally broke through to even the match in the 20th minute as Asher Brooks redirected a Brennan Oates cross into the net.
Polk Middle nearly missed another goal late in the half, a deflected shot bouncing off the crossbar and just over the head of a Wolverine charging toward the goal.

Rugby then took the lead in the 37th minute and added an insurance goal with eight minutes remaining to give the Raiders the win and sole possession of first place in the BRC East Division.
Polk Middle will host Apple Valley Middle on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
