Rimer’s late goal lifts Polk County past East Henderson

1 min read

Wil Rimer scored the winning goal Thursday with 36 seconds remaining as Polk County handed East Henderson a 4-3 defeat in a non-conference boys soccer match at Polk.

After Jeremy Allsbrook tied the match at 3 with some five minutes remaining on a penalty kick, Allsbrook started the winning play with a throw-in. Isaias Akers flicked the throw to Rimer, who buried the game-winner.

East Henderson took a 2-1 lead at the end of the first half, Polk getting its goal from Rimer with an assist from Allsbrook. Sam Korzelius tied the match in the second half with his first goal of the season, but the Eagles grabbed a 3-2 edge with about 15 minutes remaining before the Wolverines’ late rally.
