Polk County will look to remain alive in the state 1A boys soccer playoffs Friday when the Wolverines host Bishop McGuiness for a third-round clash.
The match is set for 6 p.m. in G.M. Tennant Stadium. The winner moves on to a state quarterfinal meeting on Saturday with Bradford Prep.
The Villains (15-4-4) moved into Friday’s match with a 2-1 overtime win Tuesday at Avery. Bishop McGuinness is led by junior Dylan King, with 20 goals, and 19-goal scorers Leo Blacutt and Mahol Chom.
