Eno Baker scored two goals Wednesday to help lift Polk County Middle to a 3-1 victory at Hendersonville Middle in Blue Ridge Conference boys soccer action.
Polk County improved to 7-2 with the win. Hendersonville Middle fell to 3-6.
Baker gave the Wolverines a 1-0 lead with a shot from some 16 yards out, assisted by Topher Pearson, in the eighth minute.
Pearson then scored from around 23 yards away early in the second half, driving the shot into the top of the goal.
A Baker corner kick in the 40th minute deflected off a Hendersonville player into the net to give the Wolverines a 3-0 advantage. The Bearcats added a late score for the final margin.
“We dominated the first 20 minutes of the first half, but only got one goal,” said Polk Middle head coach Lennox Charles. “The second half was more back and forth but we created more chances and got two goals.”
Polk Middle hosts East Division leader Flat Rock Middle on Monday ay 4:30 p.m.
