Polk County Middle scored a pair of second-half goals Tuesday en route to a 4-2 win over Apple Valley Middle in boys soccer action in Hendersonville.
The Wolverines (4-1) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first half on early goals from Brennan Oates and Asher Brooks. But the Knights (2-1) responded, dominating the remainder of the half and scoring twice to even the match at halftime.
Apple Valley also had the better of play early in the second half, but Polk’s defense, led by Ian Lewis, Joshua Jarrett, Rhys Jackson, Jack Baughman, Angel Roman and Jared Contreras, helped thwart the Knights and keep the match deadlocked.
