Polk JVs stifle West Henderson in season debut

Polk County’s junior varsity made its season debut a successful one Thursday, rolling to a 5-1 victory over West Henderson in G.M. Tennant Stadium.

The Wolverines raced to a 3-0 lead at halftime, then added a score early in the second half on a nice sequence of passes that resulted in Luke Garrison’s second goal of the match.

Ross Dow added a score late in the match for the final margin.

The Wolverines built their first-half lead on goals by Garrison, Erik Pena and Oakley Whiteside.

Polk County is slated to travel Monday to North Henderson for a non-conference match.
