Polk JVs net shutout at East Rutherford

Juan Vazquez scored a pair of first-half goals Wednesday, helping spark Polk County’s junior varsity to a 5-0 win at East Rutherford.

Vazquez found the net off passes from Erik Pena and Erik Ramirez, giving the Wolverines (6-3-1) a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Luke Garrison upped the advantage to 3-0 before Ramirez found the net on a penalty kick and Angel Vazquez capped the scoring with a long drive that cleared the goalkeeper.

Polk County will be on the road Monday, traveling to Brevard for a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference match.
