Polk County JV’s defense proved impenetrable Thursday afternoon as the Wolverines secured a 2-0 victory over West Henderson JV in non-conference soccer action in Mills River.
The Wolverines (1-0) claimed their season opener thanks to a complete team performance highlighted by stellar defensive play. Goalkeeper Jackson Blotner anchored the defense with multiple crucial saves to record the clean sheet.
Polk County’s back line of Matt Jarrett, Jasper Nespeca and Ryan Blomeley consistently thwarted West Henderson’s attacking efforts throughout the match.

In the midfield, the Wolverines’ Juan Vazquez and Erik Ramirez controlled the tempo of the game, helping Polk County dominate possession and create attacking opportunities. That led to a pair of goals by Tomas Santibanez to power the victory.
The Wolverines will look to maintain their winning ways when they travel to face East Rutherford on Monday in another non-conference matchup.
