Polk JVs battle to draw at Hendersonville

Evan Marlow’s first-half strike earned a 1-1 draw for Polk County’s junior varsity soccer team Monday at Dietz Field, extending the Wolverines’ unbeaten streak to three matches despite challenging weather conditions.

Playing in a persistent drizzle that made both the ball and playing surface treacherous throughout the Western Highlands Conference contest, Polk County (4-2-2) battled to maintain its recent run of form against the host Hendersonville squad.

Marlow provided the highlight of a difficult evening when he unleashed a shot that found the back of the net in the opening half.

Polk County returns home Wednesday when it hosts Owen at 5 p.m.
