Polk County Middle School will hold boys soccer tryouts for the 2026 season August 5-7 at Utz Field.

Tryouts will be held August 5 from 5:45-8:15 p.m., August 6 from 6-8 p.m. and August 7 from 6-8:30 p.m.

The first day of practice is scheduled for August 10 from 3:30-6 p.m. That date may also serve as an additional or make-up tryout day depending on the number of players trying out or weather conditions.

Cafeteria supervision will be available for those who need to stay at school until tryouts begin.

Participants must have a current concussion form and physical form on file before trying out. Players can check with athletic director John Ruth at [email protected] to verify their forms are current.

Players must attend tryouts to make the team and are expected to attend all practice days once tryouts conclude. Being on the team last season does not guarantee a spot this season.

Optional skill and pickup sessions are scheduled in June and July. While not mandatory, players trying out are encouraged to work with a soccer ball as much as possible before tryouts. The pickup sessions are also open to rising sixth, seventh and eighth grade girls.

Pickup sessions are scheduled for 6-7:45 p.m. at PCMS on the following dates: May 28; June 2, 4, 16, 18, 23 and 25; and July 28 and 30.
