Smoky Mountain avenged a loss earlier this season to Polk County, handing the Wolverines a 2-0 loss Wednesday in Sylva.
Smoky Mountain improved to 8-2-1 with the win. Polk County dropped to 8-2 with the loss.
The Mustangs also earned a 1-0 victory in junior varsity play.

Polk County is now off until next Wednesday, when the Wolverines travel to Madison for their Western Highlands Conference opener.
