Hendersonville scored a pair of second-half goals and made that lead stick Wednesday in topping Polk County 2-1 in non-conference boys soccer action at Dietz Field.
The Bearcats (2-0-1) scored on goals by Jackson Carter and Jack Moss early in the second half on a rainy night in Hendersonville. Polk County (0-3) sliced the margin in half with just over five minutes remaining on a goal by Isaac Edwards, but the Wolverines would get no closer.
Polk County is slated to next be in action on Wednesday, returning home to face Kings Mountain in a 7 p.m. match.
