
Polk County relied on backup goalkeeper Nate Harms on Monday to hand Patton a 2-1 setback in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference action in Morganton.
The Wolverines (2-3) played without starting keeper Charlie Wagoner, sidelined with an injury. Harms stepped in and recorded seven saves in helping lead Polk to the win.
Tallis Metcalf and Erik Pena scored for Polk County. Center defender Brandon Powell was also lauded for his efforts in the field.
The Wolverines return home on Wednesday, hosting Hendersonville in a 5 p.m. match.
