Edwards’ hat trick helps power Wolverines to win at Mountain Heritage

Isaac Edwards notched a hat trick Wednesday to lead Polk County to a 6-1 win over Mountain Heritage in a Western Highlands Conference boys soccer match in Burnsville.

The Wolverines improved to 13-2 overall, 5-0 in WHC play with the win. Mountain Heritage is now 4-3-1, 2-3.

Grayson Jones added a pair of goals for Polk County, which led 5-0 at the half. Cameron Greve had the other goal for the Wolverines, with Edwards, Adam Kehrer and Dan Dougherty recording assists.

“A well-played second half. We kept possession very well,” said Polk County head coach Josh Trejo. “Overall a very good win for the boys today.”

Polk County travels Monday to Madison for a key WHC showdown with the Patriots, currently in second place in the conference.
