East Rutherford grabbed a 2-0 halftime lead Wednesday and went on to defeat Polk County 3-0 in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference boys soccer match in Bostic.

The Cavaliers (8-3, 5-1) overcame a determined effort from the Wolverines (2-7-1, 2-3), who trailed by a goal for much of the first half before giving up a late tally.

Conference play continues for the Wolverines as Polk travels Monday to Brevard before returning home Wednesday to face Patton.
