Wyatt Highsmith had the lone goal Wednesday for Polk County in its loss to Hendersonville

Hendersonville built a 2-0 halftime lead Wednesday and went on to hand Polk County a 3-1 setback in junior varsity soccer action at G.M. Tennant Stadium.

The Bearcats upped their record to 4-2-1 while the Wolverines dropped to 2-4.

Wyatt Highsmith scored the lone goal for Polk County, working to get free in the penalty area in the final three minutes of the match and chipping a shot into the net.

Polk County will next be in action on Sept. 20, traveling to Smoky Mountain for a 5 p.m. match.
