Polk County freshman Sebastian Azar scored the first hat trick of his Wolverine career on Thursday, leading the Wolverines to an 8-0 rout of Chase in Forest City.
The Wolverines (3-12, 3-5) built a 2-0 halftime lead and then exploded in the second half with six goals. Polk matched its season goals total in the win.
Joining Azar’s three goals in the scoring frenzy were Jack Smith, Cole Pereira, Elliott Whiteside, Manny Albarran and Cade Bright. Smith, Pereira, Whiteside, Albarran and Owen Highsmith each had assists.
Bright finished with four saves.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again Wednesday at Polk County for a 6 p.m. match. Polk is slated to celebrate Senior Night prior to the match.
