Polk County’s undefeated run through its non-conference scheduled continued in a big way Friday.
The Wolverines exploded for 50 points in the first half and went on to claim a 71-23 victory over Rosman in boys basketball action at Polk.
The Wolverines (4-0) raced to a 28-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and grew that margin to 50-14 by the half as Rosman (0-6) struggled to slow down the Polk attack.
Dominique Carson had 24 points, including four 3-pointers, with Antonio Simpson scoring 15 and Kris Littlejohn adding 14 points.
Kanye Staley and Lawson Carter each added five points, with Vincent Twitty scoring four. Mackus Simpson and Isaiah Spears each added two points.
Polk County returns to the court on Wednesday, hosting Piedmont Community Charter for its final non-conference tuneup before the start of Mountain Foothills 7 Conference play.
