Wheeler named to Times-News All-Area team

Polk County junior Jamal Wheeler has been named to the Times-News All-Area Boys Basketball team.

Wheeler led the Wolverines this season in almost every category, averaging 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 3.1 assists per game. He set a school single-game scoring record with his 40-point effort in an overtime win at Hendersonville.

Wheeler was also named to the all-Western Highlands Conference squad.
