Kobe Christian scored 27 points Wednesday to lead Highland Tech to a 71-53 win over Polk County in non-conference boys basketball action in Gastonia.

The Rams improved to 7-0 with the win. Polk County dropped to 0-5.

Freshman Dominique Carson had 19 points to lead the Wolverines, with Clark Phipps adding 17. Amir Gary finished with five, with Ezekiel Hermann adding four, Keyandre Thomas and Tyler Staley each with three and Sedric Pickett scoring two.

The Rams broke open the game in the second period, building a 36-21 halftime lead.

Polk County is back in action on Friday, hosting East Henderson.
