Polk County got a second straight double-double from Keyandre Thomas, but still dropped a 67-38 decision Tuesday to Madison in Marshall.
Thomas finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds for Polk County, which dropped to 4-9 overall, 1-1 in Western Highlands Conference play. He had 13 points and 12 rebounds in Friday’s win over Avery.
Madison improved to 9-5, 1-0.
The Patriots built a 30-13 halftime lead, then put the game out of reach with a 26-point third period, building a 56-22 lead entering the final quarter.
Wesley Royster had 11 points for Polk County, with Bryson Edwards adding seven points. Tyler Staley had three points and seven rebounds.
Brett Bagwell and Brandon West each scored two points and Max Perkins added a point.
The Wolverines return home Wednesday to host Pinnacle Classical Academy in a non-conference game.
