T.C. Roberson exploded for 23 points in the second quarter Wednesday and went on to hand Polk County a 73-30 defeat in non-conference boys basketball action in Skyland.
The Rams (12-7) held a 17-12 lead after the first period, but raced away in the second, building a 40-21 advantage at the half.
T.C. Roberson’s defense held Polk County (6-14) to nine points in the second half to account for the final margin.
Keyandre Thomas had six points, four rebounds and four assists for Polk County, with Shaq Wingo and Wesley Royster each scoring five points. Omar Carson had four while Dominique Carson and Brett Bagwell each had three.
Kanye Staley and Bryson Edwards each scored two points for Polk, which returns to Western Highlands Conference play on Friday, traveling to Avery.
