Raptors rally in second half to take down Wolverines

Lake Lure Classical Academy outscored Polk County Middle 27-11 in the second half Tuesday to rally for a 32-21 victory in boys basketball play in Lake Lure.

The Wolverines led 10-0 after the first quarter and 10-5 at halftime before Lake Lure Classical took control in the second half. Chaden Whiteside scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, including eight in the fourth quarter, to lead the comeback.

Owen Justice led Polk County Middle (1-9) with 13 points. Austin Love added four, Carter Cash scored three and Peyton Waters finished with one.

Polk County Middle hosts Hendersonville Middle on Thursday in a Blue Ridge Conference game.
