Polk County Middle steadily pulled away Thursday from Flat Rock Middle, saddling the Eagles with a 48-33 defeat in Blue Ridge Conference boys basketball action at Polk.
The Wolverines (6-5) built a 25-17 lead at halftime and then pushed that into double digits in the third period, sending the Eagles to their 10th straight loss while bouncing back from Wednesday’s loss to Rugby.
Hollis Williams had 17 points to lead Polk Middle, with Brennan Oates scoring 12 and Kayden Pressley adding 10. RJ Simpson had eight points, with Jackson Blotner adding a point.

The Wolverines will return to the court on Wednesday, kicking off the final week of regular-season play at Brevard Middle.
