Dominique Carson scored 16 points and Chan Barber added 15 to lead Polk County Middle to a 47-30 win Thursday over Brevard Middle in Blue Ridge Conference basketball action in Brevard.
The Wolverines improved to 3-5 with the win. Brevard Middle dropped to 1-7 with the loss.
Steven Chupp scored six points for Polk Middle, with Dakota Twitty scoring four points and Cole Pereira and Kanye Staley each scoring two.

WOLVERINE GIRLS WIN: Olivia Overholt poured in 20 points to lead Polk Middle to a 43-40 victory in girls play.
Lauren Dotson contributed 15 points with solid post play and Tori Thompson added eight points for the Wolverines, now 6-2.
“The girls really fought hard and found a way to win,” said Polk Middle head coach Brian Taylor.
Both Polk Middle teams will be at home Monday, hosting Rugby Middle. For the girls game, it will be a matchup of the top two teams in the BRC’s East Division.
