Thursday offered it.

The Wolverines, who lost by 29 points at Apple Valley earlier this season, turned the tables and handed the Knights a 41-36 loss in a Blue Ridge Conference matchup at Polk Middle.

Polk Middle (4-4) won for the third time in its past four games. Apple Valley dropped to 6-2.

The Wolverines raced to a 13-0 lead at the end of the first period, with Lawson Carter scoring seven points in the quarter, then withstood an Apple Valley rally in the second half to secure the victory.

Antonio Simpson had 10 points to lead Polk Middle, with Carter scoring seven. Avery Harden had six points, with Gunnar Alm and Wyatt Cooley each adding five and Keaundrae Green scoring four.

Dayvion Stinson and Karlan McEntyre had two points for the Wolverines, who travel Monday to face undefeated Hendersonville Middle.
