Polk Middle boys snap late deadlock, edge Apple Valley

Polk County Middle pulled away in the final stages of the fourth quarter Thursday to hand Apple Valley Middle a 53-47 setback in Hendersonville.

The Wolverines (2-4) snapped a 35-35 tie entering the fourth period with 18 points in the final quarter to claim the Blue Ridge Conference win. Apple Valley dropped to 0-5.

Eno Baker led Polk Middle with 20 points, five of those in the final quarter, with Gunnar Alm scoring 10 of his 15 points in the fourth.

Banks Barber and Karlen McEntyre each had seven points, with Dillon Pruitt scoring two and Avery Hensley adding a point.

Polk Middle returns to the court on Monday, hosting Hendersonville Middle.
