Polk County Middle School’s girls and boys basketball squads each earned victories Thursday at Rugby Middle in Blue Ridge Middle School Conference play.
The Polk girls pulled out a 41-39 win. Maranda Gosnell scored 18 points and Autumn Owen added 12 for the Wolverines, now 3-0 this season.
“We played hard and never let up,” said head coach Brandy Alm. “It was a battle the whole game.”

The Polk boys also improved to 3-0 with a 38-16 victory. Arnie Twitty scored 16 points, including a dunk.
“Very solid games by Holden Owens, DJ Twitty, Dillion Overholt and Peyton Kemmerlin,” said boys head coach Billy Alm. “It was a team effort.”
Polk County is back in action on Monday, hosting Apple Valley.
