Polk County Middle's Aaron Jackson had 12 points in Monday's win

Polk County Middle’s boys basketball team made it two wins in a row on Monday, earning a 44-40 victory at Rugby Middle.

The Wolverines again relied on their defensive pressure to force some Rugby turnovers, but also picked up key offensive play throughout the lineup to improve to 2-4 overall.

“The guys took the momentum from Thursday beating Brevard and kept it going tonight,” said Polk Middle head coach Brad Muse.

Nolan Simpson led Polk Middle with 13 points, with Aaron Jackson adding 12. Avery Hensley added nine points for the Wolverines.

Polk Middle also got six points from Piercen Edwards and two points each from Khristian Littlejohn and David Duffy.

The Wolverines begin the second half of their season schedule, and complete pre-holiday play, on Thursday, traveling to Waynesville Middle.
