Polk JV boys tumble at Owen

Owen raced to a 17-6 lead Tuesday and went on to hand Polk County a 63-39 setback in junior varsity boys basketball action in Swannanoa.

The Wolverines (3-14, 0-7) kept the margin at 11 at the half, but Owen pulled away in the second half to secure the victory.

Kris Littlejohn had 15 points to lead Polk County, with Mackus Simpson scoring nine. Sabian Schaeffer had six points, with Vincent Twitty scoring four, Mark Teague adding three and Kanye Staley scoring two.

The Wolverines are scheduled to be back in action on Friday, traveling to Avery for another Western Highlands Conference clash.
