Polk County’s boys basketball team has added some extra work to its holiday schedule.
The Wolverines have joined the field for the Maroon Devils Christmas Classic, set for Dec. 28-30 at Swain County High School. Polk will open play on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. against Hiwassee Dam.
The opportunity arrived for the Wolverines after Tuscola had to withdraw from the tournament.

The remainder of the field includes Smoky Mountain, Andrews, Mountain Heritage, Hayesville, Brevard and Swain.
