Piedmont Charter JVs rally late to defeat Polk County

Piedmont Community Charter rallied in the fourth quarter Tuesday to take a 36-30 win over Polk County in junior varsity basketball play at Polk.

The Wolverines (0-4) held a 17-8 halftime lead and were up 26-20 at the start of the fourth period. But the Patriots heated up in the fourth quarter and kept Polk’s offense in check to claim the win.

Brandon West had nine points to lead Polk County, with Mark Teague scoring six. Kris Littlejohn had four points, with Mackus Simpson scoring three. Finishing with two points each were Amner Contreras, Briar Underwood, Kanye Staley and William Simpson.

Polk County is set to host Chase on Thursday at 5 p.m. in its final home game until early January.
