Patton staged a second-half rally Tuesday, fighting back to upend Polk County 54-36 in a Mountain Foothills 7 junior varsity boys basketball battle at Polk.
The Wolverines (0-7) surged to a 17-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, kept the lead at halftime and were up by as many as 10 points midway through the third quarter before the Panthers began to fight back.
Trailing 31-21, Patton scored 12 straight points in the third period, surging into the lead before a Nate Fagan free throw at the 1:44 mark stopped the rally.
