Patriot JV boys pull away in second half to top Wolverines

Madison pulled away in the second half Tuesday to post a 55-38 win over Polk County in boys junior varsity basketball action in Marshall.

The Patriots held a narrow 28-24 lead at the intermission, but outscored Polk County 17-9 in the third period, then held the Wolverines (3-9, 0-2) to five points in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Kris Littlejohn had 16 points and seven steals to lead Polk County, with Vincent Twitty and Mackus Simpson each scoring eight points.

William Simpson had three points and eight rebounds, with Kanye Staley scoring two points with four rebounds and Amner Contreras adding a point.

The Wolverines return home Friday to face Owen in another Western Highlands Conference game.
