Owen avenges earlier loss to Polk with 71-46 triumph

Owen avenged a loss earlier this season to Polk County, handing the Wolverines a 71-46 setback in Western Highlands Conference boys basketball action in Swannanoa.

The Warhorses (6-13, 3-4) built a 28-14 lead at halftime and continued to increase the margin in the second half. Polk County dropped to 6-13, 2-5 with the loss.

Dominique Carson had 22 points and six rebounds to lead Polk County, with Wesley Royster and Shaq Wingo each scoring five points.

Bryson Edwards and Brett Bagwell each scored four points, with Tyler Staley, Omar Carson and Keyandre Thomas each adding two, with Thomas grabbing five rebounds.

Polk County is slated to travel Wednesday to face T.C. Roberson in a non-conference matchup.
