Mountain Heritage JVs topple Polk County

Mountain Heritage’s junior varsity boys raced to a 13-2 lead at the end of the first period Tuesday and rolled to a 59-11 victory over Polk County.

The Cougars extended the lead to 35-4 at the break and were never threatened thereafter.

Kris Littlejohn had seven points to lead Polk County (3-12, 0-5), with Amner Contreras scoring two and Vincent Twitty and Mackus Simpson each adding one.

Kanye Staley had seven rebounds for the Wolverines, who travel Wednesday to Bessemer City for a non-conference clash.
