Madison raced to a 13-point halftime lead en route to handing Polk County a 51-44 setback Friday in a Western Highlands Conference junior varsity basketball meeting at Polk.

The Wolverines (8-6) fell behind 33-20 at the half before slicing into the deficit in the final half.

Shaq Wingo had 14 points to lead Polk County, with Wes Royster scoring 10 and Bryson Edwards and Chan Barber each scoring nine.

Davin Hines added two points for Polk County, which hosts Owen on Tuesday.
