Lipscomb powers Chase JVs past Polk County

Uriah Lipscomb’s 32-point performance Friday propelled Chase to a 56-41 victory over Polk County in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference junior varsity boys basketball action.

Lipscomb established his scoring presence early, scoring 12 points in the opening quarter as the teams battled to a 14-14 tie. He later added 11 points in the third period to help Chase maintain control of the game.

The decisive stretch came in the fourth quarter, when Chase outscored the Wolverines 13-4 to pull away for the win.

Luke Garrison led Polk County’s offense with 11 points, while Tae Gary added 10. Curtis Simmons contributed five points, with Dre Thompson, Harris Windsor and Kamron Cunningham each scoring four. Nathaniel Harms added two points and Keyan Simpson finished with one.

The loss dropped Polk County to 0-16 for the season while Chase improved to 7-10.

Polk County begins its final week of regular season play on Tuesday, traveling to East Rutherford.
