Polk County Middle relied on strong inside play Wednesday to roll to a 60-38 victory at Brevard Middle in Blue Ridge Conference boys basketball action.
The Wolverines (5-6, 3-6) jumped on the Blue Devils (1-10, 0-9) from the outset, opening a 13-4 lead in the first period and building the margin the rest of the way.
Avery Harden had 18 points, nine of those in the third quarter, and Antonio Simpson had 14 points to power Polk Middle.
“We got some great play from our bigs, Avery and Antonio, and played really good team defense,” said Polk Middle head coach Josh Money.
Gunnar Alm added nine points, with Keaundrae Green scoring five. Kendall McEntyre had five points, with Isaiah Spears and Karlan McEntyre each scoring two and Lawson Carter adding one.
