Their jerseys read Tryon and Polk Central, but the basketball players gathered Friday night at Polk County High School shared a common bond – former Wolverines.
A large crowd enjoyed a glimpse into Polk County’s basketball past as the Wolverine Alumni Basketball Game took to the PCHS court. The game served as a fundraiser for Polk County’s basketball program.
The Polk Central contingent earned a 95-85 victory, the win capped by a dunk in the final seconds by Polk County High head boys basketball coach Antoni Staley.

But the warm evening wasn’t about winning but rather reliving great memories while helping give future Wolverines the opportunity to make more.
