Flat Rock slips away in second half to top Polk Middle

Flat Rock Middle pulled away in the second half Monday to hand Polk County Middle a 40-22 loss in Blue Ridge Conference boys basketball action in Flat Rock.

The Eagles (2-1) held a 15-10 lead at halftime, but opened the second half with a 12-5 run and extended that lead in the final period to seal the win.

Piercen Edwards led Polk Middle (0-4) with five points, with Khalil Austin, Aaron Jackson and Avery Hensley each adding four.

Nolan Simpson finished with three points and Brody Wilkins added two for the Wolverines, who return home Thursday to face Brevard Middle.
