Vincent Twitty powers to the basket during Friday’s game against Owen

Owen built a 14-point halftime lead and held steady in the second half in handing Polk County a 43-27 defeat Friday in junior varsity boys basketball play at Polk.

The Wolverines (3-10, 0-3) couldn’t get untracked offensively in the first half, allowing the Warhorses to build a 25-11 lead by the intermission.

Kris Littlejohn had 15 points to lead Polk, with Mackus Simpson adding seven. William Simpson had two points and eight rebounds, with Vincent Twitty scoring two points.

Mark Teague added a point and five rebounds and Kanye Staley had seven rebounds and four steals for Polk, which is next in action on Friday at Mitchell.
